“When Lisa sings, she has a way of reaching
right into the center of your soul. What resonates is amazing,
powerful and calm all at the same time. Lisa makes you feel
things you’ve never felt before,” is how one fan describes
Lisa Ferraro’s mesmerizing, rich, sultry voice.
Lisa
began singing as a young child; often the backyard was her
stage. “My earliest memories are of gathering music in from
the sky,” she recounts. “I felt like it was coming from a
source as big as the sky, and I was trying to offer it back as
big as the sky, too.” Today, her venue has broadened. Lisa has
performed with Marvin Hamlisch and the Pittsburgh Pops Symphony
and regularly shares the stage with a myriad of other major
talent throughout Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Chicago and
Atlanta, as well as in her hometown, Pittsburgh. Her Jazz and
New Thought performances keep her busy and her audiences
captivated.
Along
with a distinct vocal style and presence that is truly
‘Lisa’s and Lisa’s alone’, Ms. Ferraro has also gained
notoriety as a prolific songwriter/writer. She has composed
lyrics for recording artists, commercial jingles and special
events. Commissioned by the Major League Baseball association,
Lisa wrote and sang at the dedication to the legendary Roberto
Clemente. She has also been solicited to compose music for
films. In addition, Lisa authors children’s books and
inspirational poetry and has committed herself to improving the
lives of children around the world. In 1999, Lisa founded a
non-profit organization with which she intends to provide
children with an alternative to foster care by creating and
offering an environment in which children and adults will
thrive.
Currently,
Lisa has recorded and released five CD’s. The first, Balance
(1998), is a collection of original, uplifting, powerful songs
that spark freshness and insight. LYF’s
(Life’s) Standards (2003), is an outstanding
collection of classic jazz standards intermixed with
unforgettable originals of her own. Timeless,
also a jazz standards compilation, is a “must own”,
featuring jazz legends, Roger Humphries, Dwayne Dolphin and Joe
“Handyman” Negri (Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood).
Pianist/Composer, Max Leake, collaborates with the arrangements.
Her fourth, Jazz Up The Holidays
(2004) is an amazing and exciting Christmas CD recorded live
at The Manchester Craftsmen's Guild. The compilation of holiday
favorites is mixed by 2 time Grammy Award winning engineer, Jay
Dudt and arranged by the world-renowned Mike Tomaro. Jazz

Eric Susoeff (guitar), Kurt Lorence (bass), Joe Henrdon
(trumpet), Bob Matchett (trombone) and The Laurel Strings Trio

Her most recent CD, Sing
Your Song...To Fill The Sky is
incomparable for its vibrancy and artistic freshness. This CD
aims straight for the heart and soul. Eight of the nine tracks

( Max Leake, Paul Thompson, Dale Cinski, Greg Humphries, Kenny
Blake, Brian Stahurski, John D'Amico, Hollis Greathouse, Andy
